The Empirical Analysis Of Industrial Structure's Influence On Foreign Trade Of Shandong Province

With the accelerated globalization of the world economy and intensified international competition, any countries and regions have to participate in international competition inevitably. And in the competition among countries mainly based on economic competition, with a prominent manifestation is that if the industry of a country or region has competitiveness in the international market. Only the comparative advantage and the competitive advantage created from the reasonable, high-efficiency and constantly optimized industrial structure as well as the industrial competitiveness can maximize the international profits.Industrial structure and international trade are always the hot subjects of research in academia, but the influence of industrial structure on international trade is still relatively few in research. With the economic development and increase of foreign trade dependence degree, the connection between industrial structure and international trade becomes profound and complex. So it has realistic significance in the research of the decisive party of the industrial structure. This thesis studies on the influent mechanism of the industrial structure on the foreign trade through the theoretical and empirical researches. The thesis elaborates the international trade theories concerned, studies the relation of the technology, industrial structure and international trade theoretically, considering the comparative advantage structure as assess of anglicizing the industrial structure and foreign trade.Shandong Province is a large foreign trade Province of China. In recent years Shandong Province has made great achievements in foreign trade and import volume ranked among the top in the nation. But Shandong Province is not a strong foreign trade province. The paper studies on issues of the connection between the industrial structure and international trade, the promoting effect of industrial structure upgrading on international trade.The paper consists of five parts. Introduction is the first part mainly on the background and significance of the study, thesis structure, innovations and shortcomings of the research. The second part of paper is literature review which divided into two aspects, including the study abroad on international trade, the domestic study on industrial structure and international trade. The third part construct a theoretical framework to analyses the mechanism and the way of industrial structure and international trade. The forth part makes some computation models to study on the influence of industrial structure on international trade in Shandong Province empirically, using data of the industrial structure and foreign trade in Shandong between 1978 and 2007, with the result that the industrial structure influences trade seriously. The thesis analyses that the development of foreign trade in Shandong Province should keep up with the dynamic comparative advantage strategy, put forward the industrial structure as the interior comparative advantage. The core of strategy is to promote the industrial structure. The development of technology is the most important one of factors in optimization of industrial structure. The government should do something to promoting industrial structure and development of foreign trade.
