Empirical Research On The Relationship Between Foreign Trade Structure And Industrial Structure In China

This research focuses on the relationship between China's trade structure and industrial structure. The key research is put on the channel through which foreign trade structure affects the industrial structure. At first, it cites some traditional theories and recent researches related to this issue. Then it studies the present situation and character of China's industrial structure and trade structure. It makes an empirical study on the channel through which foreign trade structure affects the industrial structure using the expanded endogenous economic growth model which includes the export and import department. The result of this empirical study demonstrates that among the three industries the second industry is most heavily affected by the trade structure while the first industry receives the least affection. At the same time we use some structure indexes to study the overall relationship between China's trade structure and industrial structure and find that the export trade structure has apparent effect on the industrial structure of the later year while the import trade structure has apparent effect on the industrial structure of the current year. At last, we make a comparison with other countries and give some suggestions on how to promote the trade structure and industrial structure of our country.
