Protection Measures Of Suburban Scenic Areas In The Process Of Rapid Urbanization

Nowadays, China is experiencing rapid urbanization. Urbanization strategy is the key measure to enhance regional competition and promote modernization. However, along with the rapid urbanization, urban areas keep expanding, scenic areas in the suburbs are facing significant negative impact, and the protection of suburban scenic areas is facing new problems in the new situations. The purpose of the research is to sum up protection measures suitable for China in the situations of rapid urbanization, and to guide the healthy, reasonable, orderly development of suburban scenic areas.The nature of the protection of suburban scenic areas in the situations of rapid urbanization is to seek the balance between resource protection of suburban scenic areas and city's craving for utilization of landscape resources.Through theoretical analysis and example analysis, concept and classification of scenic areas were reviewed, concept, features and contradictions in the development were discussed, and concept of suburban scenic area was defined on the basis of related researches in China. It was concluded from the analysis that the rapid development of cities shortened the distance between the city and the suburban scenic areas, and suburban scenic areas were more and more influenced by the city.Through comprehensive analysis, 8 problems existed in suburban scenic areas in the process of rapid urbanization were summed up, and 8 protection measures in 3 aspects were put forward on the basis of related protection experiences at home and abroad.Combined with the writer's practice of landscape planning and design, application example of the protection of three typical suburban scenic areas (Mudu, Shihu and Lihu) in Master Planning of Tai Lake Scenic Area proved the feasibility of the protection measures.
