A Case Study Of Zhongxing On Remodeling Core Competence

With the fast development of China Economy, international large Chain Enterprises have increased the intensity of investment in China to share China's economic growth. Facing the challenges of FDI, domestic enterprises has often been referred to as the so-called "sunset industries" , although they are closely related to the life of local residence and business. Comparing with the power of those transnational enterprises, domestic commercial enterprises tend to be the lagger in the competition and gradually lost their market dominant position. It is becoming urgent for those domestic commercial enterprises to reform their own core competencies, improve resistance operational risks, and enhance the competing position.Construction enterprise core competence is not new to us. Many enterprises are trying to establish their individual core competencies. But the way in building the core competencies is very difficult. Lack of effective method to identify and form the core competency, many enterprise did not really form their core competitiveness. Based on the method of case studies, this paper identifies, evaluates, and finally forms a new mixture of the core competencies for Zhongxing Company. The paper also makes out a feasible remodeling program to raise the case enterprises competence.This paper is composed of four chapters. The first chapter reveals the purpose of the study and its significance, the research thesis ideas and methods. The second chapter describes management issues under 1999 market environment. The third chapter analyzes the case using relevant theoretical knowledge and applies SWOT, Porter framework of the five powers to identify strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The forth Chapter gives some solutions and suggestion.
