A Study On Joint Managed Inventory Based On Supply Chain

With the development of supply chain management, people began to seek the minimum cost of supply chain and maximum levels of customer service. With this background, the connotation of inventory management has also undergone a tremendous change, which requires the focus of enterprises to transform from their own inventory management to the entire supply chain inventory control. In the supply chain environment, inventory is no longer idle resources or temporary reserves, but the result of no seamless connection between enterprises or departments. Therefore, the real nature of inventory control is not for logistics management of materials, but for the workflow management in enterprise business processes. In the environment of supply chain this thesis conducts research on the following aspects of inventory management:First of all, this thesis expounds the practical significance of inventory management in supply chain environment, reviews some domestic and foreign research progress on inventory management. Combined with modern logistics management idea it also expounds the theory of supply chain management and inventory management.Then, this thesis mainly analyses the implementation strategies and models of Joint Managed Inventory, based on the analysis of the current status of inventory management in the supply chain environment. This model emphasizes the joint development and comtemporary participation in inventory plans of supply chain node enterprises, such that each inventory manager can consider problems from mutual coordination in the process of supply chain management. This way can ensure that the inventory management entities have high degree of unity on the level of demand forecasts between two adjacent nodes in supply chain and the amplification of demand variability is eliminated. Next, this thesis also analyses in detail the strength and weakness of Joint Managed Inventory, models the effective control of supply chain cost with the implementation of Joint Managed Inventory, and draws the conclusion that Joint Managed Inventory can reduce the overall cost of supply chain.Finaly, this thesis takes"Xiang Han"company as an example, elaborates its problems in supply management, and conducts inventory strategy design according to its peculiarities. In the mean time, a thrid-party logistic system is introduced which makes stock replenishment of small quantities in its supply chain more economical.
