Known as a kind of high-quality and efficient clean energy and chemical raw material, natural gas plays a key role in improving energy structure, protecting the environment, relieving the tense of oil supply, improving energy use efficiency, promoting the modernization of industry and commerce, and achieving the sustainable development of national economy. As our exploration and development work proceeds in deeper pace, we found deep level natural gas field in large scale, especially for the deep volcanic natural gas in Songliao basin. However, we haven't done the comprehensive evaluation and prediction work on the deep volcanic natural gas, so we don't have mature matching technology and experience to handle several technical difficulties coming to us.Based on the depth analysis on exploring situation of deep volcanic natural gas in Xingcheng Gas Field in Songliao Basin, this article analyzes its exploring characteristics in two aspects including sharp differences in gas well capacity and sharp descending of output to find out the existing problems in the process of exploring. 8 sets of reasonable exploring solutions and 7 evaluation indicators have been formed according to the stages of solution design and practical situations. Meanwhile, we do the optimization work using the improved Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and analyze the characteristics and source of the risk. We also build the indicators system in geology, engineering, and economy risk and evaluate the risk ranking through extension evaluation method, the optimization is available, and it supplies valid evidence for scientific decision making of deep natural gas exploration.
