The Study On The Influence Of The Industrial Structure Change To Energy Efficiency

The existing research indicated that the industrial structure change and the technology progress were considered as the most important factors that affected the energy efficiency,. From the existing research of industrial structure change to energy efficiency influence for long, the result is quite different between the developed countries such as United States, Japan and the developing country, China.Therefore, this thesis takes Guangzhou, a higher level of economic development,where outstanding achievements have been made in improving the energy efficiency as a sample, through theoretical analysis and factors decomposition method, carried on theoretical analysis and empirical analysis to the influence of energy efficiency in the industrial structure change during the period of 1985-2006 in Guangzhou, and also carried on analysis to the influence mechanism in the industrial structure change to energy efficiency . The conclusion indicated : In the long run, the technology progress is the primary factor in promoting the total energy efficiency, while the influence of the industrial structure change to energy efficiency is relatively small; At the short-term, the technology progress is also the primary factor in promoting the total energy efficiency at most of the time, but the industrial structure change also affects the energy efficiency to a great extent; For industry energy efficiency, technology progress is still the primary factor in promoting the industry energy efficiency ,but the industry internal structure change also affects the industry energy efficiency to a great extent in the short term and long term; From the influence mechanism of the industry internal structure change to the industry energy efficiency, the industry energy efficiency is increasing in the period of the heavy industry, the key lies in the scale above equipment manufacturing industry have experienced rapid growth and the proportion of its added value of production in added value of industry is on the rise. So, for the short-term influence of the industrial structure change to energy efficiency and the influence of the industry internal structure change to the industry energy efficiency, these conclusions are different from the conclusions which based on the data of our country.Finally, this thesis proposed some special operational policies and measures to increase the energy efficiency in Guangzhou: Firstly, make great efforts to investment in the energy technology research and development and to introduce some advanced production technology and technique of production; Secondly, promote the proportion of the tertiary industry in three industrial structure and the proportion of the scale above equipment manufacturing industry in industry structure;Thirdly, try to promote energy conservation in tertiary industry, architecture industry and living energy consumption.
