The Study And Implementation Of Risk Management In Business & Operation Support System

As the booming of mobile communication industry, the increasingly vehement market competition, the rising of user numb, and the gradual update of mobile services, operators must make the service quality, profits, and the supporting competence of business operations higher and higher. Thus, the importance of the business operations support system is growing in the overall mobile communications networks. BOSS II stage, the charging handling cadre of which was set up at the beginning of this century, has seriously restricted the further development of business. In order to keep pace with the business development and meet the requirements of mobile information service during 2008 Olympic Games, the company organized the III stage expansion project of the business operations support system.BOSS possesses such characteristics as extensive range, great number, and various kinds. Covering a wide range, involving a lot of information, and relating different ranks of people are its specific manifestation. The deficiency or the nonstandard in any aspect will bring the risk to the overall project. Thus the feasible risk management, which can maximize the avoiding or reducing of operations risks, plays a very important role in the success of the business operations support system.The construction of BOSS III stage adopts the mature COTS, the system integration of which was made by China HP, and finishes the system construction through certain custom made and development. It has been the first time that the foreign COTS of business & operations support system was comprehensively utilized in the domestic mobile market. Furthermore, it will be a brand new try in the localized operation, fine maintenance, and corresponding project management of foreign product.Combining the working experience, the author studied the related theories of risk management, selected the research approach, which is suitable to the project, on the basis of analysis and aiming at the characteristics of such software project as the business operations support system, especially the cots software, attempted to build a theoretical system of risk management that fits the project, and stated how to use this theoretical system to comprehensively direct the risk management through analyzing actual cases.
