A Study On The Co-ordination Problems Of TD-SCDMA Industry Development

TD-SCDMA is one of the three mainstream international standard of the third generation mobile communication (3G) and it's the first international communication technology standards whose intellectual property rights owned by China. It not only makes Chinese mobile communication technology and industry reach the forefront of international competitiveness for the first time, but also stimulates and promotes the independent innovation ability of Chinese telecom industry.But in recent years, despite the Chinese government has made great efforts to promote national TD-SCDMA industry, the current status of TD-SCDMA industry is not satisfied. From April 1, 2008, China Mobile has launched a trial TD-SCDMA service. Although China Mobile made a lot of efforts on channels and incentives measures, but the results are not good.Therefore, this paper mainly studied the trends and characteristics of TD-SCDMA industry chain and provided TD-SCDMA industry an initial strategy for reference, based on the theoretical analysis of the industry chain, focusing on the problems of TD-SCDMA industrial development and with a reference on the general principle of 3G industrial chain development in foreign countries.This paper includes six parts: the first part is the background and objectives of the paper. In the second part, the author introduces some theory of industry chain, which provides a theoretical basis and guidance for this paper.From the third part, the author gives a brief description of the development of TD-SCDMA in China, summarizes some findings and problems. Since the study of 3G industry in other countries will be of good reference and guidance for the development of TD-SCDMA in China, the paper cited the large number of typical cases, including the development of WCDMA in Europe and CDMA2000 industry in Korea, which describes their lessons of the success and failure. The author spent a large amount of time to collect supporting data and made the data verification, so as to accurately describe and analysis the situation of the industry. Based on the above series of rigorous scientific analysis of this paper, in the final part, the author provided TD-SCDMA industry an initial strategy for reference.
