Research On Carl Sagan Science Communication Activities

Carl Sagan, the famous American astronomer and a science propagator, has affected uncounted teenagers in the USA and people cared for science all over the world.But he has been not known as well as the other countries spoken English in China.With the analytical method of aversion,it is the first time to research Carl Sagan science communication activities thoroughly and deeply.It was a special way for Carl Sagan to engage in science communication.Two factors,general education and space race between USA and Soviets,played a key role in his science dissemination activities.Carl Sagan science communication activities had his own characteristics:using simple words to explain science accurately;paying a strong attention to spread science spirits;being against pseudoscience to protect rationality spiritï¼›human solicitude.They are the points in this thesis.At the same time the thesis points out the weaknesses of carl sagan science communication activities: inclain of scientism;non-science composition in some of his science communication works.
