Resarch Of The Scope Management And Risk Management In IT Project

With the rapid development of information technology, powerful and complex-structure IT projects are emerging. Time consuming development cycle and high cost are needed for these IT projects, which result the complication to manage the risk. On the other hand, frequent changes demanded for IT projects make it difficult to define the scope of the projects. To match those demands, an efficient management model that based on traditional project management theories and combined with the characteristics of IT project management is needed. The management model is expected to optimize management process and increase the level of IT project management. For IT projects, scope management and risk management are the key points that require more attention.In this dissertation, the basic concepts concerning with project management and the characteristics of IT project are firstly analyzed in details. A deeper research of scope management and risk management of IT project is followed. Based on these theories, there is a case study related with the research at the end.Some technical analysis tools are used in the field of project management and a detailed analysis of system engineering methods is given. The project scope management processes and change control methods are proposed base on the system engineering methods. At the same time, a careful study of FMEA in the reliability analysis is given and the methods of FMEA and conventional project management tools are combined and applied in risk management of IT project. A simple and practical tool that dealing with and monitoring procedure project risk identification and evaluation is created. The project scope management and risk management process are applied in the Golden Quanlity project, improved the the management level and management efficiency, and achieved very good results.
