Research On Copper Resource Supply Safe Of China

Copper is one kind of non-renewable material and an important strategic base. Itsproduction and supply are directly related to the development of a country. Nowadays,China already has become the largest consumer of copper in the world. However, bothhighly demand of copper and its shortage has restricted the economic development ofChina. Although China imports a huge amount of copper every year, China plays lessimportant role in the world copper market. Therefore, the steady and rapid development ofthe domestic industry of copper in China faces great challenges.According to the factor endowment theory, the resource constraint theory and therationalization of the industrial structure theory, this paper finds that the problems faced byChinese copper industry is caused by supply of copper resource by using time series andthe balance of supply and demand analysis.From the anger of the global allocation of copper resources, the paper plans to deal withthe resource constraints faced by Chinese industry of copper. We find that the endowmentof copper resource determines that the Chinese government should"go out"to make full ofthe copper resource in the other countries. The specific researches are listed as follows.The first part of the paper introduces the problems and challenges faced by copper resourcein China and then puts forward that Chinese government should guarantee the safe supplyof copper resource.The second part of the paper describes Chinese endowment of copper resource, itsproduction and consumption, and the effects of economic and political factors on the safesupper of copper resource. By studying the safe supper of copper resource in China, thepaper tends to find theory and method to resolve the problems faced by the safe supper of copper resource. In the context of economic globalization, owing to the shortage of copperresource, the Chinese government should place high emphasis on the international coppermarket so as to guarantee the safe supply of both copper resource and other importantmineral resources.Based on the prediction of future demand of copper resource, the third part of the paperanalyses the Japanese global resources strategy and points out the pattern that China canmake use of. Furthermore, the paper discusses the procurement and control strategy of theoversea copper resource and then puts forward feasible plans to control the overseascopper resource. In addition, the authorities concerned should make incentive andfavorable policies as soon as possible to control the overseas copper resource. At the sametime, the authorities concerned also should greatly support the"going out"strategy ofChinese copper industries.The paper collects a large number of time series data and attempts to study the trend ofrelative variables of copper resource over time using these data. In doing this, the paperhopes to bring forward the suggestions for further use, control and reserve of copperresource, and ensuring the sustainable development of copper-related industries andnational economic security. This is an important contribution the paper makes.
