With the development of China's reform and opening up, the implementation movement of corporate social responsibility (hence CSR) has swept the whole country, with the export-oriented processing enterprises at the Pearl River Delta region becoming the first group to fulfill CSR. China's labor conditions and environmental conditions has attracted more and more attention from the world ever since. Faced with this situation, a lot of people initially resisted the implementation of CSR and took it as a trade barrier laid by western countries on China. However, with the efforts made by multinational companies in promoting the fulfillment of CSR in export-oriented processing enterprises having produced more and more positive results, we have gradually turned to supporting CSR and spread it to state-owned enterprises, private enterprises and other types of enterprises. During his postgraduate study, the author did some researches in export-oriented processing enterprises, most of which, especially those medium or small-scaled enterprises, have got fatal blows from the current financial crisis. Therefore this study selects export-oriented processing enterprises as the subject of the research, and begins with an analysis of the core element in CSR– labor-employer relations. Through the case studies, the paper analyzes the causes of labor-employer conflicts and suggest how to improve the relationship between them. The study first traces back to the origin of CSR and introduces some related theories, and then summarizes labor-employer relationship evolutions in different forms of society and the labor-employer relationship adjustment in capitalist countries. After that, the paper elaborates the relation between the labor-employer relations and CSR, stressing the important role the labor-employment relations and CSR play in the enterprises'development process. With the existing theories as theoretical basis, and some first-hand data and data got from other sources as evidence, the study generalizes the current situation of labor-employment relations in export-oriented processing enterprises, based on which some feasible recommendations are given as to how to improve internal labor-employer relations in the export-oriented processing enterprises.
