Due to the high requirement to individualized demand and in-time delivery, there are intense competitions in the machine building industry. Focusing on products delivery delay in A Co., Ltd, the main parts of C product department are analyzed. Therefore, based on the analysis of the characteristics on demands and life cycles, a push-pull combined inventory control scheme is put forward. Parts are sorted according to value, quantity and production mode. And inventory control points are set up. Then inventory control strategies based on models and web-based kanban are set up separately. At last a simulation experiment is designed to verify the effect of control strategy based on multi-part backorder model.Firstly, based on the summarization of the basic theories of inventory control and analysis of inventory structure, products delivery and production life cycle, the key factors are determined. And an overall inventory control scheme combining push-pull is proposed.Secondly, in order to determine the inventory classification, ABC, CVA and TOC analysis are used to analyze the inventory composition. And key factors such as production mode and quantity are considered. Then, the inventory control points are set to divide the production flow into push areas and pull areas.Thirdly, inventory control strategies based on models are set up, including JIT model, multi-part backorder model, multi-product EOQ model and lot-for-lot model. Then, inventory control strategies based on web-based Kanban are programmed.Finally, demands of 150 kinds of parts between 2007 and 2009 are collected from lean production system. Then the safety stock level and economic order quantities are calculated through multi-part backorder model. At last, inventory control strategies based on multi-part backorder model is implemented to the actual demand in 2008.The results indicate that different control strategies based on inventory classification can improve delay delivery of components, change inventory structure, and simplify management. And inventory strategy based on web-based Kanban can reduce processing time on dealing unexpected situation. A feasible inventory control method for machinery building industries of multiple products and small batch is provided.
