On The Study Of Guangdong Province's Salt Distribution In Republic Of China During The Anti-Japanese War (1937-1945)

Salt is necessary for human being's daily life, and its importance goes without saying. Because salt distribution connects with people's lives and country revenue, researchers all focused on it. With the Anti-Japanese War broke out, in order to meet wartime needs, the Government of Republic of China made a corresponding reform for salt, and began to control salt distribution, then the monopoly. As one of the major salt-producing areas, the study of Guangdong's salt distribution policy and implementation is of great significance. The article first make a profile of salt distribution before the Anti-Japanese war, then begin with the different policies during monopoly and control period, and combining Guangdong's eastern and western areas' concrete implementation process of each period, to show the detailed salt distribution situation of Guangdong Province in Republic of China. In the end, it will take two parts to make an impartial evaluation of salt distribution of Guangdong Province in Republic of China. On one hand, Guangdong Province's salt distribution in Republic of China had positive impact, which protected the area and the neighboring provinces' needs for soldiers and civilians, such as Hunan, Jiangxi, and kept the stability of the price of salt and increased the tax, played an important role in the durable resistance for Anti-Japanese war. On the other hand, it will point out that Guangdong Province's Salt Distribution in Republic of China also had problems and shortcomings, and make an analysis.
