Construction Of Estimation Model Of Economic Loss From Environmental Pollution And Its Application

Environmental pollution affects human capital accumulation, resulting in human capital loss. In the new economic growth theory, human capital is considered as a main engine of economic growth. Based on the perspective of human capital loss, we can establish an econometric model of human capital stock from environmental pollution. Based on the Lucas Model with endogenous variable of the human capital, along the path of environmental pollution-human capital loss-economic loss, we can measure the economic loss indirectly, by comparison of the economic output with environmental pollution and without environmental pollution, to establish the evaluation model of economic loss from environmental pollution.Using the evaluation model of economic loss from environmental pollution base on the perspective of human capital loss, and using the data of Guangdong province, we can measure the economic loss of atmospheric environment pollution. Compared with the economic loss from the Traditional human capital approach, we can draw the conclusion that the Method based on the perspective of human capital loss is closer the real economic loss. And the evaluation model of economic loss from environmental pollution based on the perspective of human capital loss is more suitable for measuring the indirect economic loss from environmental pollution.
