This paper aims to assess the competitiveness of the wholesale trade, Zhejiang Province, and through their comparison with the domestic well-developed provinces and cities to find out the wholesale industry of Zhejiang Province's strengths and weaknesses, and then make policy recommendations. In order to achieve these objectives, I firstly read the competitiveness literature in two lines. First, the factors affecting the competitiveness, studied David Ricardo's theory of comparative advantage and Michael Porter's national competitiveness theory. Second, competitiveness, comprehensive evaluation index system. By reading I found that the theory about the factors affecting the competitiveness has not yet refined to the wholesale trade and the formation of a comprehensive evaluation index system does not fully applicable to the evaluation of the competitiveness of the wholesale trade industry. What found here are related to the further analysis of factors affecting the wholesale trade and the design of comprehensive evaluation index system. Logically speaking,to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the competitiveness of the wholesale trade, the the first thing is to define the competitiveness of the wholesale trade. Taking into account the wholesale industry is an important part of circulation, accounting for intermediate links in the supply chain, therefore the definition of the wholesale industry should not only be an addition to emphasizing the profitability of services but also be stressed beyond capacity and superior market environment brought the potential development. Then I find the factors affecting the competitiveness of the wholesale trade industry and design a comprehensive evaluation index system. However, If you want to make a meaningful evaluation system of the wholesale trade throughout the country, you should make a choice of the evaluation methods. Among the many evaluation methods, principal component analysis can be substantially reduced number of variables, achieve the maximum extent to avoid the self-relevance and influence of human factors. With an objective, accurate, and intuitive features, it is eventually chosen. Through principal component analysis and comparison with the developed provinces and cities, the author found the existence of strengths and weaknesses of the wholesale industry in Zhejiang Province. But just this is still not enough, because the wholesale trade in Zhejiang Province is not a monolithic, therefore, I also select the key indicators for the 11 prefectures and cities in Zhejiang Province to identify the characteristics of wholesale trade in Zhejiang province. The above thinking form the contents of the following five chapters:The first chapter is the Introduction to the problems to settle, in the context of research. Then a brief overview of the current research situation, as well as the paper content, methods, innovative points and structural arrangements. The second chapter is the theoretical basis for the study, first introduced the connotation of the wholesale trade, and its function. Then define the wholesale trade competitiveness and focus on analysis of the competitiveness of the wholesale trade industry factors. Chapter III By comparison, select the principal component analysis as a competitiveness evaluation methods, and from the choice of 17 indicators in five to build the competitiveness of the wholesale industry, the evaluation system is the basis for empirical analysis. Chapterâ…£is the main body of this article:Comprehensive Evaluation of the competitiveness of the wholesale trade. First, use the third part of the evaluation system built to extract the four common factors and rank the competitiveness of the wholesale trade industry. This will be followed by competitiveness of the wholesale trade in Zhejiang Province and national comparison of the more developed provinces and cities to find out the strengths and weaknesses of Zhejiang Province. Finally, make a horizontal comparison among the 11 prefectures and cities in Zhejiang province, to find out the wholesale industry characteristics. The Fifth part on the basis of the above findings,is to make policy recommendations and make the final conclusion of the study and research prospects. The main conclusions obtained in this study are:(1) The competitiveness of the wholesale trade industry, mainly by size, industry structure, industry performance, industry market potential. (2) In recent years, the wholesale trade industry size, industry market potential are in the rapid development. The performance aspects of the industry development, the international aspects of the industry more volatile, and in the industry structure is very poorly developed. (3) By comparison with the developed provinces and cities in Zhejiang Province, I found that the overall competitiveness of the wholesale trade and economic strength are not equal. The overall business climate and the industry performance is better while the industry structure become worse. (4) In various prefectures and cities in Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou and Ningbo City have a strong comprehensive strength, while the city of Jinhua, Shaoxing have a economic benefits. In the course of the study, I try to make innovation. The innovation and the main point of this paper are:First, based on the research of other scholars I defined the concept of the competitiveness of the wholesale trade. Second,I build the competitiveness evaluation index system. Third,I use the wholesale trade evaluation system to rank the nation's 31 provinces and cities, and through horizontal comparison to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the wholesale industry in Zhejiang Province...
