The Research On The Regional Economic Development Disparity Of Shaanxi Province

Owing to the implementation of the open policy, the Chinese economics increases quickly. Yet, the fast economic growth also contributes to the economic disparity among different areas, and this trend is much more serious in recent years. The regional economic disparity not only exists in the provinces between east and west in China, but also exists in the province itself. As a very important province in the west of China, Shaanxi's regional disparity is also rather greatly, especially the south area of Shaanxi; its disparity with the other areas is becoming more and more serious. Under this background, the paper introduces the disparity situation among the central of Shaanxi plain, the south of Shaanxi and the north of Shaanxi, and does some positive analysis on the factors of promoting and restricting the economic development in Shaanxi province. Then this research analyzes the reasons of causing regional disparity and put out some advice, which is very helpful for Shaanxi province's long-term social and economic development.There are five chapters in this research. The first chapter introduces the overall economic situation and the economic features of the central Shaanxi plain, the south of Shaanxi and the north of Shaanxi. Then this chapter explains the aim of this research and the meaning to the long-term economic development in Shaanxi province. Also, this part introduces the ways of the research and the possible innovations. The second chapter presents the radical theories and ways of analyzing the regional economic disparity, including factor analytic method and panel data model. The third chapter introduces the current economic development disparity situation of the central, south and north areas of Shaanxi province, and then builds the aggregative indicator and analyzes the three areas economic and social development situation. Meanwhile, by analyzing the three areas' panel data, this research finds the factors of restricting and accelerating the three areas economic growth. The forth chapter finds the reasons of contributing to the three areas'economic growth disparity from several angles. The fifth chapter gives some advice on shortening the disparity among the three areas.
