Strategy Research In Cross-border M&A Of Banking In China

Since the 1990s,international banking began to emerge endlessly.With the development of economic globalization,banking from countries join in the international market constantly.Cross-border M&A become one of the main ways for internationalization.By means of cross-border M&A,commercial banks not only built up global business network,and participate in global competition,but also achieved collaborative management and complementary,and decentralized operational risks.Nowadays,the cross-border M&A wave of international banking has drawn wordwide attention.To occupy the international financial market,banking of China also do the cross-border M&A actively. So far,some demestic large banks has realised cross-border M&A through shares and holdings,such as CCB,ICBC,Minsheng Bank and State Development Bank etc.In recent years,China's sustained economic growth,good performance of banking reform,as well as the big shadow from the subprime crisis provides a good opportunity for the cross-border M&A of China's banking.How to grasp the rare opportunity and meet the international competition with more powerful strength is full of great realistic meaning and worth deeper researching.This study aims to give personal opinions and views in the hope of playing a guiding role in the cross-border M&A practice of China's banking.The fifth chapter is the performance analysis of cross-border M&A in China's banking.In 2007,there are five banks that has cross-border M&A events in China's banking,which are BOC, ICBC,CCB, State Development Bank,and Minsheng Bank.Based on the data about these five banks,we do the performance anylysis by means of factor analysis.The sixth chapter is an summary of the whole paper.through the summarize of international experience in the third chapter,the existing problem analysed in the fourth chapter.and the result in the fifth chapter,it put forward the strategic planning in cross-border M&A of China's banking.
