The Greater Mekong Sub-Region Cooperation (GMS) was advocated by The Asian Development Bank (ADB), promoting by China, Japan and all of other GMS countries, and it have achieved great progress. After the Second World War, Japan has participated in many ways and assisted the cooperation in Mekong Sub-Region. Now, Japan has become the largest assistor and investor in Mekong Sub-Region, and has an increasingly deeper influence on the five countries of Mekong Sub-Region.The article analyzes the Japan's participation in the Mekong Sub-Region Cooperation, including the past and present policy in Mekong Sub-Region, and specific actions through exploring the background of relative policy, and intends to make a forecast on the trend of Japan's policy in Mekong Sub-Region. Furthermore, based on the analysis of how Japan's policy influence on the countries in Mekong Sub-Region and the games between China and Japan in the region, the article will provide some recommendations and solutions for China in the Sino-Japanese competition. |
