Nowadays, the globe encounters with tons of problems. Such as the pollution, the shortage of energy and resources, and the natural disasters happen all the time. All the people are concerned. Under this circumstance, the needs of these urges must be met. The theory of sustainable development was like a straw to a drowning person. However, the theory just lack of practical methods. People want to do something for the community and even globe, the question is "How to do it".As long as we reexamine the three components of a health earth must have, the answer may not be so implicit. The three parts are environment, society and economics systems. It is obvious that the environment provide us with all the material and energy we need. So it is necessary to us to full understanding of this territory.A new accounting system is needed to fulfill the adjustment. The global Footprint system is developed to describe the impact which human give to earth. This system use Bio-productive land and water as its accounting object. Then calculate how much land and water can be available to human, and how much can be utilized by us. All the figures were depicted in global hectares which are demonstrated in the thesis. In this model, the bio-productive land was divided into six types, cropland, gazing land, water, forest land; build-up land and land for absorb carbon dioxide which is different from the first version of footprint model. These six different types will all standardize in global hectares. The logic path in this thesis is identified to three steps:Part 1, it introduces the sustainable development theory needs an update, Part 2, this article tells about the new method of ecological footprint theory, and use the model on Guangdong Province. Part 3, this thesis gives recommendation to government and enterprises. The first part, including the first and second chapter, mainly analysis ecological and economic development needs new amendments on the world outlook and methodology. That is the need for more sees the world from ecological aspects and combination of the ecological resources and human societies with the conception of bio-productive land. The second part, including the third and the forth chapter, introduce the latest version of the national ecological footprint concerning the ideas and calculation methods. And then apply the model to Guangdong Province, give the result of crop land and pasture land ecological footprint is inadequate, on the other side land for forestry and fisheries is relative abundance. The fifth chapter and the sixth chapter are the two components of the third part, which mainly aim at providing policy recommendations on the government and enterprises and giving the conclusions of this thesis. The government needs to pay attention to current development issues. They needs to fulfill the environmental requirements by developing industrial clusters, the formation of new industrial chain, attention to specialized personnel training and other measures with the government intentional encouragement.
