With nearly 30 years of rapid development, China's private enterprises have entered a new stage. They made outstanding contributions to the creation of supply and demand, providing employment opportunities, narrowing income gap and achieving social stability etc. However, the status of private enterprises is more important now, in pace with competitions among enterprises being increasingly fierce. With no doubt, fierce competitions request better make psychological quality of private enterprises managers. Managers'mental health influences not only their personal development, also competitiveness and the products quality of private enterprises. A survey result shows that 76.8% of private enterprises managers have moderate mental problems. However, these problems cannot be solved because black of no psychological services for private enterprise managers, their lack of mental health knowledge and the self-regulation of mental balance. These issues are harm for the progress of the enterprise managers seriously, and affect the healthy development of enterprises indirectly. So, understanding the mental health problems of managers existing in private enterprises comprehensively and exploring the solutions of the issues, has become urgent priority of developing private enterprises.The article reviews literature summary on mental health and private enterprise human resource management first, analysis the necessity for making psychological conservation for the managers of Chinese private enterprises based on theories of human resources management and mental conservation, then defines the overall research ideas and proposes corresponding hypothesis。By combining characteristics of private enterprises managers with "Chinese Mental Health Scale", the author conducts a questionnaire survey on mental conservation of managers. Survey results analyzed by parson related statistical analysis and factor analysis in such six aspects:detection rate of managers'mental health problems, differences in mental health of different people, the relationship between occupation stress and mental health, roots of occupation stress, the understanding of mental health, the way of dealing with stress. And such conclusions can be made:mental health problems are general for managers of private enterprises; individual differences in mental health exist among them; the more subjective stress they feel, the more serious their mental health problems are; the stress source are the unfairness of salary and welfare, lack of occupational training, the imperfection of performance measure system, the incorrect of job analysis, neglect of labor relations; the managers have little knowledge about mental health.Finally, the article proposes targeted recommendations in organizational, social, personal levels based on the view of human resource management. It is expected that the relevant departments are promoted to do mental conservation research of private enterprises managers, and mental health monitoring system of private enterprise managers are perfected by providing related theories.
