Nowadays, the research on the carbon sink in our country focuses mainly on the forest systems, while the one on the grassland ecosystem carbon storage remains still at the early stage.Maqu has always been famous for being Asia's first farm, yet in recent years, global warming, over-grazing and other factors have quite aggravated the local grassland degradation, which not only have had to do with the damage on the local grass environment, but also with the water safety issue of the Yellow River in the lower and middle reaches. Moreover, it may even seriously affect the survival of local herders and further development in the long run.Under this circumstance, our study takes a view through carbon sinks, and tries to apply the carbon density method for measuring the carbon sink in Maqu grassland, on the basis of which, we take Maqu as a specific example, comparing the change in herdsman's revenues through carbon source method and that through the carbon collects method as to verify the feasibility of our research.By introducing the Game Theory, we have also tried to design the management system to guarantee the efficiency and fairness among the compensation process, which will prevent the adverse selection the herdsmen inclined to take. Therefore, we hope that the economic efficiency, the ecological effectiveness and the social benefit remain coexistent and coordinated as they are, approaching the optimum state. This article tries to implement a carbon trading pattern under the framework of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). We hope the herdsmen compensation mechanism compensates costs the herdsmen face for reducing the number of herds to protect grasslands and assuring the security of the ecology. We also hope to pave a new way to realize co-development between economic and environment.
