Analysis And Research On The Core Competitiveness Of Construction Contracting Enterprises Based On The Value Chain

The total output value of 7.5864 trillion yuan for Chinese construction industry were completed in 2009, an increase of 22.3% over the previous year, and realized a total profit of 266.3 billion yuan, an increase of 21.0%. According to experts' prediction, the construction industry share of GDP will reach about 7% by 2010. Chinese construction industry has not only become a pillar industry and one of the main contributors of labor employment, but also played an important role to promote the comprehensive development of society. However, with more fierce market competition and the increasing demand of owners, construction enterprises are facing enormous pressure and challenges. And the systematic research on the core competitiveness has provided a new opportunity for the development strategies of construction enterprise.At present, the research on core competitiveness in our country is more to about the theoretical level, confined to the financial data analysis and evaluation, and mostly in manufacturing enterprises but seldom in construction contracting enterprise, especially lack of knowledge on the essential characteristic of core competitiveness. The Chinese construction enterprises in the "two-oriented society" not only face the competition from homogeneous enterprises in the domestic but also meet strong market resources snatched by foreign enterprise, and use of resources reasonably to comply with Government reform. In this case, it's urgent to clear thought of development, build a comprehensive and systematic way of theories, research status, recognition methods and training strategies of enterprise core competitiveness. This article is directed to this, try to identify the core competitiveness in the sight of the core competitiveness' essential characteristics of construction contracting enterprises, then combined with instances, putting forward some strategies to enhance core competitiveness, which hopes to provide a theoretical basis for Chinese construction enterprises' development and promotion.This paper took construction contracting enterprises as the research object and established the identification method of identifying core competitiveness as the goal, the essential characteristic of core competitiveness as the standard, internal collectivity and external uniqueness as the evaluation content for the core competitiveness, which is innovation of this paper. The specific idea is that:analyzed the present situation and existing problems of Chinese construction enterprises and correlation theory about core competitiveness and Value Chain by literature research methods; found out key capabilities on the basis of value chain analysis on construction contracting enterprises by qualitative method; determined the effect degree of each key capability toward essential characteristics of the core competitiveness by quantitative method; tried to identify the core competitiveness in the sight of core competitiveness characteristics, and then took MCC for example to present some strategies to maintain and cultivate core competitiveness for construction contracting enterprises.
