The belt transportation is a kind of transport mode which transmits materials by the rubber belt, the steel belt, the plastic belt and so on. This transport mode has many merits, such as the high automated level, the lower transportation cost, the lower investment, the simplicity of operator, less pollution and so on, therefore it is widely used in mines,power plants,port terminals,grain depot and ect. Based on the above characteristic, the research on belt transportation system's reliability and optimization has received great attention.Taking the continuous belt transport sytem which is used transmit mines underground as the study object and basing on large number of field data and produetion data,this paper use reliability theory and probability and statistics method to analyzed the breakdown data's distribution characteristic and some reliability index about subsystem links behind bin and ahead of bin. In the parsing process,the paper selectes Weibull distribution as fitting distribution according to the feature of frequency histogram,and writes the two solution programs to get the parameters of Weibull distribution. The algorithms in this two programs have higher precision.According to the conclusion that the fault time of subsystem links behind bin and ahead of bin are negative exponential distribution,the paper analyzed loss expense every year,estabilished a model which take the loss expense every year as the objective function,and take the reliability of system as limiting conditions.This model gave a efficient algorithm to calculate reasonable volume of storage bin,and the algorithm both considered the expense and reliability.The article has also carried on the fault tree analytic method to analyze the continual rubber belt transport system.. Through to fault tree qualitative and quantitative analysis, has obtained each part to system's importance, and discovers the system's weak link. Gives the optimized improvement comment and the suggestion in view of the analysis result to each part and the system.In the end,the whole study is summarized and the study way for the future is presented.
