Analysis And Strategies Of Strawberry Industry In Shaanxi

The development history of the strawberry production in Shaanxi province was reviewed in this thesis, and the present situation of planting area, yield, distribution, cultivars, cultivation mode and production benefit were systematically summarized and analyzed based on the social investigations. Some important problems were pointed out about the strawberry production in Shaanxi province: (1) The whole level of production was lower and the supporting techniques were insufficient; (2) The developmental levels at various places were unbalanced; (3) The propagating method remained to be improved, which leads to the seedling with lower quality; (4) There was not enough attention from government to the strawberry production. Shaanxi province had many advantages to develop the strawberry industry, for example, suitable climate and geographical position, lesser planting area, the market with great demand, abundant labor and germplasm resources. The developmental strategies were given based on the analysis: (1) The government should actively attach importance to the development of strawberry industry, and lay out medium- and long-term developmental programs, and select the leaders for the development of rural economics to guide local people to expand the scale of strawberry production and to increase their income. For the larger strawberry production base, the governments and producers should strengthen propagandizing and enlarge the strawberry market. In conditions permitting areas, the circulation of farming land should be sped up, and the people should tried to use new production and management model. (2) The sales strategy should take the local market as the starting point, and develop the national market network forward, and then expand the international market. The governments and producers should strengthen quality consciousness, execute the famous brand strategy, and practice the standardized production. Under the support of scientific technology and qualified people, they should also establish perfect propagating system of virus-free seedlings of excellent varieties, and change the traditional production mode to increase the off-season supplies. The small-scale scattering management must be transferred to the intensification management with the mode of"companies, farms and bases", and the strawberry production must realize the integration of production and marketing through developing the professional cooperatives.
