Research On The Income Gap Between Residents Of City And Rural Areas In Hubei Province

Hubei is a very typical agriculture province in the middle area of China; "Huguang ripped the country is enough" summarizes the Hubei province agriculture important status in China. Since the reform and opening, Hubei province agriculture reached remarkable achievements:harvests for 6 years, all the year around output have increase by 16.4 hundred million catty. The industrialized operations of agriculture develop greatly, the farmer's income increase obviously, per capita net income of farmer's breakthrough 5000 Yuan. However, since 2001, the provincial government has discovered observable slow growth of farmers, and after eight years will solve this problem is an important place in the work of the government. Great disparity of income gap will do harm to the reform and development and social stability, and will hamper the economic growth finally.Causes of the income gap between urban and rural residents is complex, this paper simply select from the rural public product supply mechanism analysis and increase farmers' income in Hubei province, balance the income gap between urban and rural residents. Based on Hubei rural public product supply shortages, dislocation and supply mechanism failure and need to reform its rural public product supply mechanism of farmers' income, improve farmers' income.On the reference of other research results and taking Hubei as an example, through econometrics analysis, from the angle of countryside public products supply mechanism this paper discusses change features of the resident income in terms of time since the reform and opening-up, and puts forward some suggestions and policy measures for the problem of balancing income gap between city and rural areas in Hubei. The following are the main contents and conclusions:Firstly, summarizes the theory and research results of income gap between urban and rural residents, define concepts such as the rural public products and supply system of rural public product, and so on.Secondly, the paper reviews and compares the change trace of income gap between urban residents and rural residents in Hubei and China. The paper concludes that:the income ratio between urban and rural residents in Hubei province is basically in line with that of the nation and shows increasing trend. The supply of public products in Hubei is general insufficient, the efficiency is low.Thirdly, the paper analyzes the main rural public product supply elements which impact the residents'income, taking Hubei Province as an example. We believe that through the building of the rural public product supply system, improving farmers' production and living conditions, so as to promote the farmers' income growth.Finally, the paper put forwards policy suggestions to balance the income gap between urban and rural resident:1) improve agricultural production conditions, to increase the farmers income; 2) increase the rural human capital investment, enhance the peasants'employment ability; 3) boost systematic innovation to provide systematic guarantee of narrowing the income gap; 4) to improve the rural social security situation, narrow the potential gap between urban and rural residents income.
