A Research On The Development Mode Of Low-carbon Tourism

After the Copenhagen conference in 2009, making China not only acts as a responsible country on the global concerning about climate change, but also is responsible for the task of energy conservation and implementing low carbon economy. This paper reviews the theory and achievement of the international and domestic low-carbon economy and low carbon industries, and consolidates and discusses theories related. Based on these above, the author defines the concept and content of low-carbon tourism as an attempt, and summarizes the characteristics and basic types of low carbon tourism. From the tourism point of view, the paper establishes the ideas of proposed low-carbon tourism development, including the strategic level, the means of development, products designing and how to guide tourists, etc. As to build a general basic theoretical system of low carbon tourism, this paper also summarizes and lists several development models of low-carbon tourism which are on the foundation of the elements of tourism planning and development.In the "post-World Expo" period, the trend of the development of tourism industry in Shanghai will be internationalization and low carbon. The Shanghai Tourism has owned the basic developing elements and infrastructure. The overall situation is inspiring. Shanghai is on the turning point of developing as an international low-carbon tourism destination, both opportunities and challenges. Therefore, it is necessary in the process of planning and developing Shanghai as an international low-carbon tourism city that we grasp certain basis and principles, and compete for the right of discursive power, including the assumption of "Shanghai responsibility" on low-carbon tourism, developing and constructing a series of "Shanghai program" on low-carbon tourism and establishing a tourism economic zone of "an arc, three grades, one center and three districts" to stimulate low-carbon tourism industries in Shanghai. Other cities and regions which are willing to develop low-carbon tourism and low-carbon industry can share the experience and obtain support from Shanghai. And the completion of the strategic objectives of the national energy saving will get benefit from the revitalization of low-carbon economy.
