Building industry is the pillar industry of the state. It plays an important role not only in creating economic benefits but also in employment. Moreover, building industry links with economic boost and people's living standard improvement closely. Projects'cost management and projects'cost control management must be the focus of the current construction enterprises for two aspects. On one hand, it is necessary to improve management level, reducing the cost and increasing the economic benefits to return on the stockholders'investment. On the other hand, the relevant overseas firms are entering the domestic market continuously, and their rich management experience make its project cost is far lower than the domestic enterprise, which enable them to take possession in home market, receiving more profits. Therefore, domestic enterprises must have an awareness of crisis, improving its cost management level unceasingly to enhance the core competencies of the company.Nanchang No.1 Architectural Engineering Company is a transregional and large scale and state-owned business. It integrates building operation, scientific researches, real estate exploitation and construction machine building together.The same as other construction organizations in China, low economic efficient and low competitive of the company are the major problems. The intense competition of the architectural market can be seen as the external reason, which cause they can only get few projects with less benefits and heavy social burden. While various dispersed projects can be accounted for the internal reason, which enhance its cost management difficulty.In order to promote Nanchang No.1 Architectural Engineering Company's economic growth, boosting its core competitiveness and realizing its goal to construct a vigorous competitive mechanism, the writer deeply analyzes its practical projects'cost management. The thesis adopts advanced cost management methods to control its cost. It applies earned value to control the cost and construction period of the renovation project in the west square of Nanchang railway station. The results show that earned value makes a difference in dynamically controlling cost and construction period. It should be widely popularized and applied.
