The Analysis Of The Sustainability Of Grain For Green Project

Sichuan-TianQuan county is the pilot county of the State Council Western Development Office and Sichuan Provincial Forestry Department Grain for Green Project.In the project planning, considering from the TianQuan county's natural and geographical conditions, the layout is reasonable, the key is highlighting; in the design and implementation, ensuring the dominant position of the ecological forest, ecological forest for more than 80%; in the choice forest to grow trees mainly include alder, birch and other native trees, partly introducing the fast economical and ecological Triploid hybrid bamboo tree species; the tree configuration, taking the mixed, broad-leaved mixed forest, local ecological forest and economic mixed and other forms, and some tree, shrub and multi-storied plantation. Meanwhile, in order to achieve the unity of ecological and environmental protection, local economic development and the farmers to get rich, the national policy and foresters will be combined to explore the ecological and economic compound forest model. TianQuan County since the implementation of the Grain for Green Project, it has achieved significant results, whether the project will be sustainable has deep influence on TianQuan County's socio-economic.This paper proposed content of the sustainability of Grain for Green Project on the basis of a brief description of the implementation of China's Grain for Green Project, and select the TianQuan County as a case to analysis the elements which effect the sustainability to the project. To determine the object of study, and establish the sustainability indicators system on the basis of reading a large number of related literature. And the author access to journals and other means of access to data needed for Forest Sustainability Indicators through the way of field trips and visit to farmers, and analysis the project's sustainability by analysising the ecological, social and economic sustainability.
