Relationship Between Pollution And Economic Development Of Yunnan Province

Environmental pollution has a great effect to our economic development and social life.Many economists tried to find the relationship between economic development and the environmental pollution and.In 1995,American economist Simon.Kuznets did many statistic analysis,and put forward the famous Kuznets income reverse U curve.It believes,in the early developing period of the economy,the income gap is small;as the economy develops,the gap becomes lager;and when the economy develops,the gap will become smaller again.Many foreign scholars did research on average GDP and pollution indexes from developed countries.They got a result:the reverse U exists between economic development and environmental pollution.But many native scholars did research on data from China,they found the shape are U,reverse U,N,reverse N and even straight line.I will make use of data from Hunan Province to make a regression to analyze if the relationship between environmental pollution and average GDP is a reverse U curve,just as the environmental Kuznets Curve describes?First,the environment pressure increases,the main performance unceasingly grows for the urban population to the environment pressure enlarges,in the economical growth process the industry pollution speeds up to the environment pressure as well as the urbanized advancement,causes the urban environment to be more prominent.Next,the atmospheric environment and the water environment questions prominent.The waste water waste gas discharges the total quantity to increase steadily,the city misted dust,raises the tendency which the dust presents further aggravates.The pollution for a longtime will be restricting the water environment quality improvement.Third,the environment restless all brings consequence and influence.The flood,the drought,the forest-fire,the agricultural insect rat damage frequency sends,creates the huge direct economic loss.Therefore,facing Yunnan prominent environment question,west Yunnan in big development strategy further implementation process,the realization environment,social and the economical harmonious development,studies Yunnan the environment quality and,the economy grows the between relations to be mutually urgent.In this paper,we will use the data of Yunan Province from 1990 to 2008 to make a regression analysis between environmental pollution and economic development.The pollution indexes are industrial waste water,waste gas,waste solid.The economic developing index is average GDP of Yunan. The analysis shows that At last,the relationship between economic development and pollution are N , reverse N and Unshaped.And we also find,if we choose the data from a country that has a different economic developing background , for example , industry structure , international environment policy and a different index to estimate the economic development and pollution,we will get different curves.We can see from the paper,the economical life has nothing to do with the environmental Kuznets curve.If the economic growth is Great,the environment pollution is more serious. The higher the rate of the light industry in the industrial structure is,the lower the environmental pollution is. The number of people also has something to do with the curve,and the quality of the people can influence the environment。From this paper,we can know the environmental Kuznets Curve is just one of the relationship between the environmental pollution and economic development.
