The concept of international competitiveness was born in the late 20th century。The international competitiveness has three levels:The international competitiveness of the country's international competitiveness and the international competitiveness of industries and products. These three levels are interdependent relationship between the upper and lower:a country's international competitiveness in various industries comes from the international competitiveness; the international competitiveness of the product is to determine the international competitiveness of industry. In this sense, the international competitiveness of research on an industry or one kind of product, can be more clear understanding of a country's level of international competitiveness. In many international competitiveness evaluation studies, the long prestigious one is Michael Porter's theory of international competitiveness. The theoretical cores are the "diamond model" and the "theoretical model of the five basic competitive forces." and "Diamond Theory" model, also known as the "four factor" model. The basic view is that a country's domestic economic environment for enterprise development has great influence on their competitive advantage. The most influential, the most direct factors are four:production factors, demand conditions, related and supporting industries and organizations, business strategy and competition. And in the "theory of the five basic competitive forces model", Porter defined that "an industry is a close substitute products produced by a group of companies" and that the two factors that affect the industry are industry competition, external factors and intra-industry factor. External factors are usually the same for the all firms within an industry. Therefore, competition within an industry depends on five basic competitive forces:threat of entry, substitution threat, bargaining power of buyers, bargaining power and the existing supply-side competitors, competition. A number of other domestic and foreign researchers follow along Porter's research ideas, some changes were made to the diamond model to adapt to their own research, these studies focused on two directions:The first one is that comprehensive evaluations of international competitiveness of industries; the second one is attempting to build international competitiveness evaluation index systems and to design and calculate a number of specific evaluation indexes. With the development of economic globalization, competition on economic strengths between countries in the world is increasingly fierce. Many facts have shown that national international competitiveness is actually determined by industrial international competitiveness. As a comprehensive industry with the characteristics of labor intensiveness, capital intensiveness and technology intensiveness, shipbuilding industry has become one of a few extroverted industries with great international competitiveness in China. The world shipbuilding market is a highly unified market, so the shipbuilding industry is a industry faced with the global competition. From the development of global shipbuilding industry and evolved process of advanced shipbuilding countries, it is not difficult to find that, the international competitiveness is essential of prosperity and decline of the national shipbuilding industry. Therefore, research on international competitiveness of shipbuilding industry in China has the critical practical significance. On the basis of the domestic and foreign relevant literature research, combined with the reality of shipbuilding industry production, Logistic Curve is applied to analyze the state of our shipbuilding industry in the ship life-cycle. Indicators of international competitiveness analysis are used to analyze the state of international competitiveness of our shipbuilding industry. Then, CD production function of the state space model is applied to analyze output elasticity of four factors of production:fixed assets, current assets, technology and labor. The sources of international competitiveness shipbuilding industry are discovered, and actual data is used to explain this result.
