Exploration On Oil Security Of China From The Angle Of Sustainable Development Of National Economy

In the time the topics of which are peace and development, energy issues have become crucial ones concerning the existence of a nation, sustainable development of society and economy for any country in the world. Oil, as an important unrenewable resource, plays a more and more important role in the security and stability of national economic development. In recent decades, the global energy system evolved and developed from bipolarization to multi-polarization.Nowadays, China is a fast-developing country, and the demand of oil is at a peak. Although our oil production has increased since the reform and open policy was implemented, with the domestic oil consumption grew at a quicker pace, we become more and more rely on importing oil. This is an alarm, and more scholars pay attention to the oil security of China.Earlier scholars'research mainly focused on oil price model and empirical analysis of oil price and economy. This thesis analyzed their research highlights comprehensively, and adopted the conception of oil security summarized by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, from the angle of sustainable development of national economy, used indices of the independence of national economy, economical efficiency and sustainable development of oil supply as criteria of oil security and did research on oil security of China by protection index of economic development, economic cost index, and sustainable development index.This thesis is composed of five main parts. The first part summarized the earlier research on oil security. The second part briefly introduced the situation of global oil market and analyzed the oil price trend and the changes in international energy system. The third part, which was the major analyzing part, did research on the oil security of China nowadays, from the angle of sustainable development of national economy. The fourth part of the thesis, did further research on the strategies and plans to the problems and risks found in part three, like bottleneck of resources, single import channels, low degree of international operation, price risks, inadequate oil reserves, requirements of environment protection and sustainable development, etc. The fifth part summarized the whole thesis.The new and creative things in this thesis are taking advantage of the indices, tables and graphs to analyze the situation of oil security in China, on the basis of authoritative definition of oil security suited to the present conditions of our country, and put forward the according strategies to improve the situation.Since oil security plays such an important role in securing the development of national economy, this thesis aims to have some positive effect on the improvement of oil security and the economic development of our country.
