Core competencies, also known as core competencies or core expertise, which is owned by the company to bring a special utility for consumers and enable enterprises to long-term and stable resources to the unique nature of excess profits. Theory of core competence by Prahalad and Hamel in 1990, "the company's core competencies," a paper presented for the first time. Articles are published on the subject to a widespread concern in academia and the business community and quickly become the mainstream of strategic management thinking, guiding the strategic practice of numerous multinational companies.In fact, since the last century, 90 years since the competition of economic globalization, multinational corporations, under pressure with frequent large-scale strategic restructuring and business process outsourcing, its main purpose is to obtain the final analysis, complementary resources and focus on improving business In the core business areas of the level of competitiveness. Compared with the multinational companies, Chinese enterprises still exist in many large gaps. How to effectively enhance the core competitiveness of Chinese enterprises to actively participate in global competition, the site is an urgent need to consider. After five decades of China's auto industry development, has formed a relatively complete industrial system. As the degree of openness of China's auto market, as well as incomes increase, the automotive industry developed rapidly, industrial scale and economic effect of increase year by year. However, we should realize that the rapid development of China's auto industry is largely a huge accumulation of domestic market demand to be generated by the release of results. In fact China's automotive industry in the global automotive value chain position is still very low, at the lower end of global value chains in the value of the minimum value-added activities. China's automotive industry value chain, the strategic link does not form an effective competitive resources (such as R & D, design, branding and marketing, etc.), the lack of international competitiveness. In this paper, the core competitiveness of domestic and international theory and the value chain based on the theoretical study to find foster and enhance the core competitiveness of China's auto industry approach. Its main contents are as follows:1. A detailed review of the core competitiveness of Chinese and foreign scholars in the value chain theory and the theory of research results, and status of their research briefly reviewed.2. Analyzes the status of China's automobile industry, especially for automobile joint ventures and cooperation between enterprises and the reorganization of the focus on exposition and analysis expounded on China's automobile industry development prospects.3. A comprehensive analysis of the Chinese car company's core competitiveness of the situation, pointing out that in the course of development problems.4. From the "value chain" perspective, looking to enhance the core competitiveness of China's auto industry, the basic way, pointing out that the focus from achieving economies of scale, increase research and innovation, developing strategic alliances and enhancing market capacity to four aspects.
