The Research For Chinese Bank Card Performance Evaluation Based On Data Envelopment Analysis

The bank card, a new-style comprehensive financial payment means is an important form of e-currency, attributed to the combination of traditional financial operation and current information technology. The development of bank card industry is significant to Chinese financial reform, economic development and social progress. After two decades'efforts, Chinese bank card industry now has the bank card as its core and has incorporated a group of banks, enterprises and specialized service organizations into its network. The payment network and industry value chain also have been developed on the basis of the bank card. Thus, a new industry has been fundamentally formed.DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) is used to analyze the input/output efficiency of 17 banks from 2006 to 2008 in operating, payoff and increasing. Models are used to carry out results. Through analyzing, we get a better understanding of the bank efficiency in China.The difference efficiency mainly lies in different framework and resource quality, thus it is suggested that higher assets quality is more urgent for banks than quantity expansion, innovation and medial operation. So e-bank is a good method to solve the problem.
