Along with the fast-speed development of our national economy, the City Commercial Banks of China achieves continuous growth. However, with the deepening of China's financial system reform, the development level of banking industry is becoming more and more deeply, as a result, the survival and development of City Commercial Banks of China faces the extensive external threats. Therefore, establishing strategic alliance among City Commercial Banks of China is the best way to confront fierce competition and enhance their strength.The author choses the City Commercial Bank of China as the study objective, and deeply analyzes the establishment and development of strategic alliance.For the city commercial banks of China facing unprecedented challenges and competitive pressures, this paper provides all-round analysis for the motives and obstacles of these banks, combining the development process and characteristics of China's city commercial banks. First, strategic alliance is one of the most important strategies for city commercial banks to deal with competition and to improve their abilities. Secondly, this paper summarizes and reviews some related literates about strategic alliance of city commercial banks. Third, the author analyzes the trend and problems of strategic alliance in the development of the China's city commercial banks. Fourth, the author analyzes the environment in China to implement these strategic alliances. Last, this paper puts forward basic principles, patterns and objectives of alliances, and a effective mechanism to construct strategic alliances on the basis of transaction cost theory, resource theory, social network theory and resource competition theory. Finally, the author takes Beijing Bank as the example and made conclusion.
