Astudy On The Effect Of Hog Production Policy

Families are the cells of the society. From the formation of the Chinese character"jia","house"and"hog", we can see the special position of hog production in our economic and social development. As the traditional industry in the rural areas of our country, hog production plays an important role in the animal husbandry, even in the whole agricultural economy. It is an important income source of the peasants. In the world, China not only produces the biggest, but also consumes the biggest. The pork consumption accounts for more than 60% in the whole meat consumption of our residents. But in China hog production is inferiority and faces much market risks and natural risks. And the cyclical fluctuation in the hog production in China is very obvious, which need necessary government regulation. However, because of the influence of the order of natural breeding of the hog and the market's operating character, the time and concrete measure of the policy are very important.This article investigates the sow subsidy, standardized scale construction project of farm subsidy, financial subsidy of construction project of the standardized scale breeding farm, large hog export county reward, and the mechanism of policies and the reasons. Because of the stimulation of two years'sow subsidy and other policies, hog production resume quickly, but at the same time these measures lead to hog oversupply and prices continual falling from 2008. Because of the government's high concern and intervention, hog fluctuation is more violent than before. The basic policies and suggestions are proposed to improve hog production in this paper, For example, market-oriented hog production to reduce government intervention; choosing appropriate policy time;rationalizing hog industrial organization;speeding up the introduction of hog futures;completing warning systems of hog market;strengthening hog epidemic disease prevention and control and so on.
