As the most important source of meat for Chinese residents, pork has a very significant position in Chinese diet structure. China is the largest hog-producing country in the whole world. Pig industry is the foundation industry which can provide the protection of food safety in china. With the strategic significance as "Pig food offer the peace ". In 2006, the wide range of highly pathogenic blue ear pig disease which occurred in South has a huge impact on the development of Chinese pig industry. The hog-producing began to decline. Fluctuations in the industry seriously damaged the hog producers and the consumers’benefits. In this case, China started to publish a series of hog production subsidy policy in 2007 such as mature sows subsidy, construction subsidy for standardized scale farm, awards for moved out hog, subsidy for improved hog type, insurance for mature sows, disease prevention grants, compensation for forced cull Highly pathogenic blue ear pig disease, grant for diseased pigs’harmless treatment in Slaughter links, complete the monitoring and early warning system for hog production and consumption, increase the scale of pork reserve and so on. The implementation of subsidy policy promoted the development of China’s pig industry. Therefore, researching on the effect of current policy has great significance to complete hog production subsidy policies and promote the development of pig industrial.This paper firstly analyzed the implementation of hog production subsidy policy in china from five sides:mature sows subsidy, construction subsidy for standardized scale farm, awards for moved out hog, hog savings and other policy. Next it analyzed the effectiveness of subsidy policy for both backyard models and large-scale farming model from the view of cost margins, access to the data of cost margins in 1991-2011, and draw the waveform changes, according to the ideal standard of hog production subsidy policy based on cost margins, then analyze the changes. At last it concluded the research through calculated the analyzing result, identified both advantages and weaknesses of existing policies, offered the reasonable suggestions.The studies claims that:(A) Both backyard models’and large-scale farming models’ cost margins has been increased, The economic efficiency of hog production has been significantly improved. (B) It promoted the development of standardized scale pig production, and made the hog cultivation scale continuously improve in our country. (C) Pig production increased clearly, pork possession per person has been increased as well. (D) The existing policies stabilized the pork market on a certain extent, but the effect is not good enough. (E) With the deep going of the policy’s implementation, backyard farmers gradually reduced, the effect on farmer’s income increasing is not fast enough.Bringing up the following suggestions:(A) Complete the construction of the early warning system for hog market. (B) Establish the long-term mechanism of supporting the development of pig industry. (C) Enlarge the support efforts for standardized scale cultivation. (D) Strengthen pig diseases prevention and control. (E) Clear all levels of governments’ responsibility in pigs subsidies.
