In the Late Qing Dynasty, the society is turbulent and the national power becomes weak day by day.Meanwhile, western capitalism country developes at top speed and modern science system forms overall.Because of the failure of the First and Second Opium War,the government of Qing Dynasty gradually realizes that it falls behind.Introducing western science and technology into china has been the common understanding of the sensible patriots. In this social background and the influence of the climax of the second scientific translation,a large number of western science work is introduced into China. A large number of mathematical work traslation emerges huge influence on Chinese traditional work. The first calculus work introducing into China Daiweijishiji(《代微积拾级》)opens the prelude to learning western variable mathematic for compatriots. The significance of this event is very important. The paper consists of four parts. The content of each part is as follows:The first chapter discusses the social background in the Late Qing Dynasty and the emergence of the climax of the second scientific translation. According to the analysis of the social and academic background,it is ready for discussing the introduction, content and influence of Daiweijishiji systematically. In the meantime,at the basis of surveying the related research results,it explains about the main research contents and the problem which should be dealt with. The second chapter discusses the conditon of Lishanlan and Alexander While translating Daiweijishiji. According to the introduction of their lives and their scientific activity,it reflects profound academic level and scientific and rigorous work attitude of two mathematicians. It is their untiring striving that creats this epoch-making significant mathematical work. The construction of Mohaishuguan(墨海书馆)emerges great influence on the translation and edition of Daiweijishiji. The third chapter is about the overall and detailed research of the master copy and edition, main mathematical content, translative characteristic, own characteristic, its limitations of Daiweijishiji. The fourth chapter discusses the influence of Daiweijishiji on Chinese traditional mathematics after its introduction to China. In this thesis,it proceeds from two angles:onthe one hand, it surveys the influence of Daiweijishiji on successive editing calculus work after translating and editing this work.According to the analysis of the writing model and its content, they inherit the marrow of Daiweijishiji and further develop and extand on their contents. On the other hand,it surveys the influence of Daiweijishiji on Chinese traditional mathematics. The emergence of calculus exercise enriches the content of Chinese traditional mathematics and emerges positive influence on mathematical education at that time. These two aspects make calculus develop unceasingly in China and make calculus spread in China at certain extent.
