Jacket platform is a widely used oil platform of the offshore oil&gas development in the world. Some dedicated hydraulic equipments, jacket leveling equipment and underwater gripper, must be used in the installation of deep water jacket, one of which, the jacket leveling equipment, is the object of study. This thesis originates from CNOOC's scientific project, "R&D of hydraulic equipment of Deepwater Jacket Installation". The main task is to intensive study the key technologies of the engineering prototype of jacket leveling equipment so as to develop our own jacket leveling equipment with independent intellectual property rights and reduce the costs of marine installation.The installation process of the jacket and the operational process of jacket leveling equipment are detailed. According to the technical specifications and design requirements, this thesis make the overall program and design mechanical structure of engineering prototype, establish 3D model of engineering prototype, and elaborate theoretically the principle of work and feasibility of gripper mechanism.The reliability of its structure is verified through the strength check of the key components of jacket leveling equipment. And by means of the optimal design of the key components, a lot of material is saved and the weight of the whole machinery is reduced. Dynamic analysis of gripper mechanism is performed with ADAMS to certify the mechanism is designed to meet job requirements. Hydraulic system is designed, and the size of the model of the cylinder and operating parameters of the hydraulic system are identified.Finally, simulate the experiment of gripper mechanism clamp on the steel piles by means of experimental prototype of force magnifying mechanism. The results verify that force magnifying gripper mechanism meet design requirements, be able to complete the requirements of clamping steel piles, and get the ratio between preload and work load, and verify the actual technical parameters of the designed leveling equipment are correct.
