Recirculating cooling water is the main aspect of industrial water using, which is the main aspect of water resources utilization. It is important to increasing the cycle of concentration for reducing the water usage in industrial water, because of the serious shortage of water resources. However, when we increased the cycle of concentration, the scaling, corrosion and other issues will be more serious in the recirculating cooling water system. Using phosphorus-containing water treatment agent is an effective method to solving above-mentioned problems. Phosphorus is one of the main factors of leading to eutrophicating. Development of high-performance, low-phosphorus, non-phosphorus water treatment agent has become the main directions of water treatment agent developing.In this study, the experimental water was from the clean circulation water system in rail-beam plant of Panzhihua Steel Company. We investigated a new high-performance, low-phosphorus corrosion and scale inhibitor compound—ZH-341, which containd polyepoxysuccinic acid(PESA), 2-Hydroxyphosphonocarboxylic acid (HPAA), copolymer of maleic and acylic acid (MA/AA), acrylic acid-2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid copolymer (AA/AMPS) and Zinc sulfate, by single factor experiment, orthogonal test basing on the document surveys and water quality analysis. We examined the rigidity, the pH, the temperature and reagent concentration effect on the corrosion inhibiting on carbon steel. Then we examined the compatibility of ZH-341 with BTA, fungicide PS-901, fungicide PS-902. At last, the application prospect about using ZH-341 had been prognosticated and analyzed.The results show that the complex formulation ZH-341 has good corrosion inhibition and scale inhibition, as its dosage is 50 mg/L, the corrosion rate and the scale inhibition rate are 0.1064mm/a and 96.57%. Calcium concentration is the most influential factor of the corrosion inhibiting on carbon steel. The corrosion inhibiting ability about ZH-341 is worse when the reagent concentration is less than 100mg/L. When the reagent concentration of ZH-341 has been increased, the corrosion inhibiting ability has been enhanced in certain extent. With temperature rising, the corrosion rate increased within 60℃. The corrosion rate is not appreciably affected by the change of pH. The compatibility of ZH-341 with BTA, fungicide PS-901, fungicide PS-902 are good. But the high concentration of PS-902 has influence on the corrosion rate. The complex formulation ZH-341 is a mixed corrosion inhibitor with model of adsorbing membrane and sedimentary membrane. Its scale inhibition action against scaling substance in solution is due to synergistic effect of chelation function, dispersion function and crystal lattice distortion function.Though the production cost of ZH-341 is more than PS-206, which has been using in the clean circulation water system of rail-beam plant, the annual operation cost of ZH-341 is less than PS-206. Besides, ZH-341 has lower phosphorus content and dosage than PS-206. The phosphorus content in ZH-341 is less than 3%. So the effluent could meet the second grade discharge standard of China and has relatively little impact on the ecological environment.
