Research Of Road Noise Measurement And Evaluation

Urban road traffic noise pollution is very serious, which restricts the improving of urban living environment quality. Accurate measurement of road traffic noise and effective evaluation has become a world wide hot issue. With the development of auto industry and tire industry, tire/road noise has become the main source of road noise radiated by daily travelling of vehicles.This paper categorized domestic and foreign road noise measurements for different research purposes.Through the analysis of advantages and disadvantages as well as applicability of these road noise measurement methods, obtained suitable road noise measurement methods for different research. For the study of noise impact on the surrounding environment and the public, recommend time-averaged procedure to measure road noise, and some improvement should be done. For the study of road noise on different roads, recommend Close-proximity method as outdoor noise measurement method to measure tire/ road noise more accurately, and specially designed a trailer for this method according to relevant information. We decide to adopt sound absorption coefficient measurements and vibration attenuation test as indoor measurements to fully reflect the sound absorption and vibration attenuation performance of different roads.Regarding Noise evaluation, we analyzed in-depth the connotation, characteristic and application scope of basic acoustic metrics and noise evaluation metrics which are commonly used at home and abroad. In addition, we proposed loudness as the evaluation index according to the unique auditory sense characteristic of human ear and request of that noise evaluation should be consistent with people's subjective feelings as much as possible. Moreover, this paper also analyzed the limitation of the existing domestic and foreign standards relevant to road traffic noise, and proposed corresponding recommendations for the development direction of domestic road noise standard:we should specially develop noise standard for the road itself and regional noise standard for regions divided by function along the road so as to control road noise better.The paper also discussed the formulate principle and fundamental method of road noise regarding our country's actual economic and development situation.
