It is an important means for safety assessment methods to enhance chemical safety, which is also a vital part of entire chemical safety process. It can provide the necessary basis for further process design and safety management to evaluate the risk of unit systematically and comprehensively. Application and integration of safety assessment methods has been a research focus. From the viewpoint of application and integration, studies on LOPA, F&EI and HAZOP are conducted.Firstly application of LOPA in risk assessment is studied. As LOPA is not good at analyzing complex scenarios, selectivity diagram for sum method and maximum method is put forward towards scenarios characterized by single consequence triggered by multiple initiating events. As passive independent protection layers in LOPA are sometimes not completely effective, in order to assess risk both correctly and adequately consequence-reducing factor is introduced, and feasible strategy is made, which expands application field of LOPA.According to the fact that HAZOP is time-consuming and subjective, the strategy of integrating F&EI and LOPA with HAZOP is put forward. From the viewpoint of risk metrics three ways for determining consequence severity by F&EI are discussed. In respect of information sharing for HAZOP and LOPA it is discussed under complex scenarios to complete the uncompleted HAZOP with LOPA so as to improve the accuracy of HAZOP. In addition, it also proposes sharing strategies for safety measures of F&EI, HAZOP and LOPA.Finally, the self-developed software of F&EI evaluation system based on Browser/Server is introduced. Through the introduction and presentation of the software interface, it is analyzed for software features such as project management, result submission and judgment correction, impact analysis of parameter changing, user help, and material factor view. With the example of ammonia synthesis unit, results of different software are compared.
