Developing with the time, the ecological landscape design of wetland plays an more and more important role in the modern landscape designing. Good wetland landscape design ideas not only have a certain environmental and ecological functions, such as cleaning up the environment and climate regulation, but also provide practical convenience to people’s leisure life, making people enjoy the spirit of aesthetic while playing. However, with the development of modern urban society, the wetland area has gradually declined and suffered a serious threat from industrial development and urban sprawl. How to protect wetland ecosystems and make better use of it have become important research areas and topics of modern landscape design.Therefore, in view of the great significance of urban wetland landscape system, this paper will explore the eco-design of wetland landscape from different aspects and especially combine with the specific case of Hangzhou Xixi wetland landscape design to explore the successful experience of the Xixi Wetland in wetland park transformation. Firstly, this paper will describe the concept of wetland ecological landscape design, classification, basic characteristics and the basic steps of the wetland landscape planning and designing. Then it will focus on the different elements in the Xixi wetland landscape ecological design and conduct field research, including the natural history of landscape, area arrangement, waterscape design, plant design, road design and etc. Basing on these, how to integrate Xixi Wetland into ecological design concepts for landscape planning and designing will be analyzed to provide certain theoretical basis for the future wetland landscape planning and designing.
