Energy and environment are two major topics in today’s world. The energy saving and emission reduction are the basic national policies of our country. The energy saving and cost reduction are the necessary routes for the survival and development of enterprises. In this paper, according to the characteristics of energy consumption in the chemical industry enterprises, and in response to the planning targets of’energy saving and emission reduction’, the energy-saving project was proposed with circulating water by driving the fan with water instead of electric. As a core equipment of the cooling tower fan, the high efficiency turbine collects energy that is resealed by the the water distributing device for driving fan and saving energy. In order to ensure the fan rotating speed that meets the requirements of the system after transformation, the output effective power of the turbine should be larger than the original motor effective horsepower.A major change or negative influence on the heat transfer equipment should not happened for the success of fan’s transformation with the existing pharmaceutical function. This research included 11 tests, two kinds of bactericidal algicide bactericide were used to observe the growth of algae and bacteria and the effect on circulating water system, and one was added in a normal way, another one was added in a intermittent way. Based on the results of previous test, the added algicide in the the following test was adjusted to obtain the optimum add amount. The results demonstrated that the effects of different algaecide amount on turbidity and the concentration of phosphorus were slight, the scale and algae were not increased. After the transformation of the project, the fan with water has run in stability, and the circulating water quality meets the requirements of the system.In this paper, the evaluation of investing benefit was based the circulating cooling water fan eneygy saving transformation project of Wison(Nanjing) Clean Energy Limited Company. After the energy-saving transformation project, the production cost is reduced, and the effect of energy saving is obvious. A guidance of energy saving is provided for the similar projects.
