With the development of computer technology, the traditional laboratory teaching already could not satisfy the demand of the times. And the teaching method of virtual laboratory emerges. This subject research a new teaching method,that is "Virtual Reality Teaching System of High-speed CNC Machining Center ""Virtual Reality Teaching System of High-speed CNC Machining Center " base on CNC machining center as example. The teaching system was established according to the virtual reality technology, in addition the system has the interactive features and 3D visualization. High-speed vertical machining center has been included in the national major scientific and technological project "high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment". The virtual reality technology combined to High-speed CNC Machining Center, Will provide a realistic、dynamic、visual teaching environment for machine tool,and promote the teaching reform of machine tool.The system is dedicated to mechanical major in colleges and universities. The system is highly practical and can be used for teaching, experiment, scientific research. The subject surrounding the research of teaching system, and many related content will be completed, such as the 3D modeling of machine tool、 animation、 virtual modeling、 virtual assembly、debugging of data glove、3D display. Specific content as follows:(1) 3D modeling: The overall program design of machine is completed by the Auto CAD and Solidworks software. The main components of the machine is identified, Such as cross slide, column, spindle box, knife library etc. Then the 3D model of machine is built by the Solidworks software.(2) Animation: The manchine’s structure and components’ working principle is analyzed. And the disassembly flowchart and working principle diagram is drawn. Then the animation of machine is completed by Deep Exploration software, such as parts display animation, automatic dismantling animation, working principle animation and so on.(3)Virtual modeling: The machine’ s 3D modeling will be introduced into Creator software. Node preparation for parts is made by Creator. And the parts will be given in a unified specification program code.(4) Virtual scene:Virtual scene is built by Vega Prime. The virtual modeling will be introduced into Virtual scene.And the parameters in the virtual scene is setted, such as light source, viewpoint, collision detection and so on.(5)Virtual disassembly: The disassembly sequence table is compiled according to the machine’s disassembly process. And the components’ virtual assembly program completed by VC++.(6) Software: The main program and interface of system will be established by the PS technology and VC++. And the Animation and Virtual disassembly program are introduced into main program. After that the Software structure of the system is completed(7) Hardware configuration: The performance of system is enhanced through the hardware is configured to the system, such as stereo display device, input device, sound device. Three kinds of interaction is implemented, such as the mouse interaction, 3D mouse interaction and data glove interaction. In addition, three kinds of 3D display is developed, such as the monitor display, projection display and helmet displays.
