With the development of science and technology, CNC gear measuring center has a rapid development. As a precision measuring instrument, CNC gear measuring center’s information technology and high-precision features mostly depend on the designing of the motion control card. This topic is in the platform of CNC gear measuring center, designing a new motion control card which can better achieve the functional requirement of CNC measuring center.By comparing with different kinds of motion control cards and combining with the actual situation, this paper designs a new motion control card which would have a fast calculation speed, strong motion control performance, a high degree of open and high precision etc. So it determines the hardware structure of the motion control card as DSP+CPLD mode, and on the designing of control card’s algorithm, it adopted the method of quadratic interpolation in order to get a higher precision. Across the control board, DSP is as the core digital processor and do the various modules on the board for auxiliary function. At the same time, DSP will also for data reading and coarse interpolation calculation. The CPLD is responsible for the communication with the instruction of CAMAC and fine interpolation calculation and the communication with DSP. So under the collaborative work of DSP and CPLD, motion control performance of motion control card will have a lot of improvement.This paper designs the whole hardware structure of the contorl card, the minimum system of DSP, CPLD peripheral circuit, power circuit and circuit. At the same time, do respectively on the DSP and CPLD module programming design for software to ensure the effective for data processing.Across the board, on the basis of the hardware and software design, it commissions the late motion control card. This part of the work is the difficulties of this topic, including the debugging with the content of the DSP main program, DSP and CPLD communication debugging, CPLD to CAMAC compilation, fine interpolation and coarse interpolation after debugging. By analyzing the result of debugging it would be able to determine whether the design of each module is reasonable and the design scheme is feasiable.
