| Mining wasteland potential evaluation provide an important foundation and prerequisite for Land Reclamation Plan, is a necessary condition for land reclamation work, can provide the basis for selecting the pioneer county and city of industry and mining wasteland reclamation.Discriminate analysis method is multivariate statistical analysis method which classify the object based on it’s certain characteristics. Nowadays, it has widely used in medicine, agriculture, management science, and have achieved good results. Using discriminate thought investigate and analyze the present situation of mining wasteland, which has certain guide significance to the mining wasteland potential evaluation.Based on the Mining wasteland of Shuo Zhou Pinglu area in Shanxi Province, this article analyzes the literature and actual situation of research area, and clears the connotation of the mining wasteland and the reclamation potential. Then carry on the current situation investigation. This research introduced the idea of discriminationduring the investigation, and summarized the first potential level features from natural, social, economic and policy et al aspects, then establishes discrimination system, screening out potential evaluation unit level.On the basis of these results using the index and method, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and artificial neural network model to evaluate the potential and makethe evaluate results as an indicator, proposing the comprehensive evaluation method. Finally, the superposition of the comprehensive evaluation results and discrimination result is taken as the ultimate result. In this paper, the research conclusion as follows:(1)This article will introduce the idea of discrimination into the Mining wasteland potential evaluation, before going to taking potential evaluation filter out part of first level potential evaluation units by establishing the first level of potential discrimination system, saving potential evaluation workload.(2)Comprehensive analysis mining wasteland potential evaluation factors, selecting the discriminate indices from land use conditions, geographic conditions and limitations reclamation: wasteland condition, land types around the figure spots, distance to the road, distance to the village, the wasteland ownership and government police. Based on the results of the discriminate, and to the reclamation foragriculture land as the center, select the degree of damage, soil texture and so on six evaluation indices, anddevelop indicators grading standards, establish the mining wasteland potential evaluation system inof Shuo Zhou Pinglu area in Shanxi Province.(3)On the basis of the results obtained discrimination system, taking the index and method, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and artificial neural network model to take the reclamation potential evaluation for the rest of the evaluation units. The results obtained by the three methods as indices,using the AHP to take a comprehensive evaluation based on the width of the result’s confidence interval, and overlay the comprehensive evaluation results and discrimination result as the ultimate result which is a thetheoretical valuewith certain scientific and reliability.
