In recent years, the pipeline engineering construction has a rapid development in our country, at the same time, it has also brought increasingly severe environmental problems, but this issue is often neglected. The destruction of the ecological environment mainly occurs in the construction period. There will be a serious ecological crisis if we don’t take effective measures. This thesis Aimed at the effects of pipeline project construction period on environments and took the pipeline engineering over waterworks for auxiliary projects of South-to-North Water Diversion in Baoding as the example. Environmental pollution and soil erosion in the construction period of pipeline engineering were researched on a basis of summarizing the practice experience of environmental management for existing pipeline project, through field investigation and data collections and analysis. Primary pollution sources and their pollution levels were studied with analytic hierarchy process, and soil erosion amount was calculated by annual erosion amount model method. The effects of pipeline project in construction period on environments were revealed. Then, relevant prevention schemes also had been worked out. The researches are in favor of reducing the harms of pipeline engineering to environments in construction period and have also great practical significance for the coordinative development between pipeline engineering construction and social, economic and environmental benefits. The research achievements are presented as below.1. The effects of pipeline engineering in construction period on environments were mainly reflected in two aspects, including environmental pollution and soil erosion. Environmental pollution principally refers to five pollution sources which were atmospheric contamination, noise pollution, solid wastes, water pollution, damage to farmland vegetation. The areas which easily emerged soil erosion in engineering construction period included general subject project region, subject project region that passes through river, temporary road for construction, temporary excavation area, camp buildings, waste slag area.2. The comprehensive evaluation model was established on the basis of analytic hierarchy process. Five main pollution sources were regarded as the criterion layer, which was subdivided as index layer. The solid waste pollution was the severest, the restricted contribution value is 0.98, followed by noise pollution and water pollution in criterion layer,their restricted contribution value is 0.36. In index layer,the restricted contribution value of environmental pollution caused by waste that generated in construction is the largest(0.9), followed by farmland vegetation damage(0.3624), the noise of construction machinery(0.2872), waste water generated during construction(0.2584). The corresponding prevention plans were come up with. The solid waste was mainly prevented and treated by landfill and planting. Prevention of water pollution relied on soil percolation system. Noise pollution was prevented by strengthening management measures, while the prevention of the destroyed farmland vegetation mostly relied on artificial cultivation recover after construction.3. The total predictive capacity of soil erosion was 8922.55 t during construction period of pipeline engineering, while the capacity of soil erosion in original landform reached 0~2440t. It’s 3.66 times for soil erosion capacity during construction period compared with maximum during original period. The capacity of soil erosion in general main construction area accounted for 49% of the total,which was 4353.66 t. Therefore, we needed to stress on it. The prevention and control plan for soil erosion during pipe construction period was realized mainly through engineering measures, plant measures and temporary measures, for example, building of mud pit, grit chamber, growing plants,soil re-ploughing and recover.
