Nylon6(PA6) has good solvent resistance, flow properties and processing performance,but also has high water absorption, dimensional stability and heat resistance. PPO is short for Polyphenylene ether, is one of engineering plastics. PPO has lots of advantages, such as strong mechanical properties, heat resistance, flame retardant properties, as well as disadvantages such as higher processing temperature and melt viscosity etc. The blending of PA6/PPO can reduce the melt viscosity significantly, and easy to be processed. PPO and PA6 are not compatible system, you need to add the appropriate compatibilizer to make the two phase better compatibility. At the same time in order to satisfy the different environment in the industry application, you need to add the toughening agent to improve the impact strength of the alloy.This paper studies the best compatibilizer and the best ratio of PA6/PPO alloy. The experiment showed that KT-24 should be the best one due to the excellent comprehensive properties of its preparing alloy. When PA6:PPO: KT-24 = 60:40:10, the optimal comprehensive performance of the prepared alloy. This paper made study on the toughening agent toughened, PA6/PPO results showed that the grafting toughening agent, the rate was 0.88%, and the toughening agentwas 15 phr, the comprehensive properties of PA6/PPO alloy with excellent water absorption, the rate is 0.41%, the alloy melt index is 7.61 g/10 min, the bending strength is 86.94 MPa, flexural modulus is 3495 MPa, tensile strength is 65.34 MPa, impact strength is 11.3 KJ/m2, heat distortion temperature is 105.1℃. It can meet the standard of automobile, electronic, medical and other industries.
